Le Chateau, the premier restaurant at Ayres Hotel & Suites Costa Mesa, is renowned for expertly blending international cuisines into refined and balanced dishes. But these culinary feats would not be possible without the passion and dedication of David Baker, the new Food and Beverage Director at Le Chateau.
Baker is joining the Ayres team with over a decade of hospitality and restaurant experience. He began his career at the highly respected Studio Restaurant at the Montage Resort in Laguna Beach. While at the Studio Restaurant, Baker worked alongside culinary master, Chef James Boyce, who helped Baker refine and perfect his restaurant skills. During his five year tenure there, Baker and his team even earned the coveted Mobil Five Star Award in 2008. But his distinctions do not end there. Baker also held the “Executive Chef” title at the popular Hilton Checkers in Downtown Los Angeles. This distinguished title has also been earned by other great chefs such as Thomas Keller.
As Baker takes charge of the restaurant, catering, and banquet teams, he hopes to bring more excitement and creativity to Le Chateau. What also distinguishes Baker is his eye for detail, which will certainly translate into the fine work he produces. He is also prioritizes using ingredients grown from local farmer’s markets to ensure that each dish is fresh and nutritious.
